What is baldness? In medical terms baldness is known as Alopecia. Baldness is the loss of hair and the scalp becomes visible. This condition is more prevalent in men than women. Hair loss is mainly due to age, illness, heredity, changes in hormones etc.

There are two phases of follicles on the scalp. One is the growth phase and the other is the rest phase. The growth phase consists of 90% of hairs on the scalp and the remaining 10% of the scalp belongs to the rest phase. When the follicles are in growth phase, hairs can live up to 5 years then they will fall off.

Propecia is one of the most common frontal baldness treatments. Many doctors prescribe it to help slow down the loss of hair in patients who have frontal baldness. Propecia comes in the form of a pill and is generally prescribed as a once-daily tablet to be taken with food or water.

A good alternative is to use natural hair loss treatments. For example, Saw Palmetto is an herbal DHT inhibitor, which is not only cheaper than commercial drugs but also has no side effects. Currently there are natural treatments available in the market, which include Saw Palmetto as a primary ingredient.

The best male baldness treatments are what’s found in nature. Naturally treating hair loss has been found to be the ultimate solution for many. When you use natural male baldness treatments, you do away with side effects, regrow hair faster, and you keep more money in your pockets.

There are a number of things that can cause excessive hair loss. For example, a major illness or surgery can cause a large amount of your hair to fall out. This form of hair loss is stress related, and is only temporary.

Many men suffer from baldness. It will most often start at some point between the early twenties to forties. A lot of sufferers are comfortable with the process and a lot are not. Its causes are not yet completely understood but it is believed to be a combination of hormones and genetics.

Male-pattern baldness develops differently in different men. Men usually lose hair on the front hairline and forehead and on top of the head. Moreover, hair thinning and baldness increase the risk of sunburn and skin cancer on the scalp because there’s no enough protection on the scalp.

At any given time between 85-90% of all hairs are growing. The growth cycle usually lasts between 2 and 6 years. The other 10-15 % of hairs are in a resting stage that lasts for several months. The resting hairs then fall out, and the follicle begins to grow a new hair.

Doctors can sometimes treat hair loss by changing prescribed medication (NEVER stop taking a prescribed medication without first consulting your health care provider). Modifications to diet can also help. In addition, you doctor might recommend medicine to help induce your hair to grow back.

Though there is much type of medications for hair loss, there are two important medications, which can treat the hair loss. They are Minoxidil and Finasteride. Minoxidil is the medicine which is massaged to the scalp directly. This medicine causes slowing of t hair fall and also helps the new hair to grow in men.

Some hair loss drugs can cost up in the hundreds of dollars just for a two-month supply. Then there are hair transplants that take up to a full year before you see any results and they are thousands of dollars.

Using home remedies for baldness will totally eliminate side effects. One of them that you should incorporate right now is the use of saw palmetto extract. You may be familiar with it for its ability to protect the prostate gland against cancer. Well guess what, it also serves the purpose to stop hair loss.

According to medical studies, people who are diabetic, suffering from lupus and thyroid disorders often suffer from hair loss. According to medical practitioners, hair loss can be attributed as an effect of the illness and the poor absorption of nutrients into the body of a sick person.
